24 Hours in San Francisco

Traveling has proved to be quite troublesome for us this trip. A delayed flight led us to miss our connecting flight, and our layover in San Francisco turned into a one night stay. At first, I was so disappointed because I was looking forward to getting home and finally being able to sleep in my own bed. But with new obstacles comes new opportunities and I decided to look at things from a brighter perspective. I mean, thanks to the airlines, we had 24 hours to enjoy in San Francisco for free! So we decided to make the most of it and explore the Golden State with the little time we had.

After a good night's sleep, we got up at around 10 AM, ready to take on San Francisco. For our last minute plans, we first decided to head to the Golden Gate Bridge! One of the most iconic sights to see, if not the most, that we always hear about when someone mentions San Francisco.

We even got to cross the bridge... well at least half way and then we walked back to the same side we came from. It was so beautiful to be able to see San Francisco from the bridge as cars and bike riders passed behind us.

Up next we made our way to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. I still remember the time we came to this place years ago, but mostly from pictures and not really all the details. So it was nice to be able to come back and experience the wharf and all its glory once again.

We even got to meet up with my cousin and it was so fun to be able to catch up over some clam chowder and calamari. The food was amazing, even though we were eating hot soup under the hot California sun.

It was sooo hot that day; we were definitely not in New York anymore. I wonder what people thought as they saw us walking around in our jackets (since they were the only clothes we had) and rolling our luggage behind us. But hey, you gotta make the most out of every situation; and this one was definitely one for the books.

After walking around the pier, we made our way back to the airport. I mean, we had to make sure we didn't miss our flight again. This spring break trip has been full of so many adventures and we definitely ended it on a high note.
